Welcome, Denis Salgado!

We are thrilled to announce that Denis Salgado will soon join the CSNTM team as our new Digitial Collection Reasearch Fellow.

Denis earned his Bachelor of Theology degree from Berean Baptist Seminary in Brazil, his Master of Divinity at Shepherds Theological Seminary in North Carolina, and will soon receive his PhD in New Testament and Christian Origins from The University of Edinburgh. His proficiency with Greek minuscule manuscripts combined with his advanced computer skills makes Denis the ideal fit for overseeing our Digital Manuscript Collection.

Denis joins CSNTM at a crucial time as we are currently rebuilding our manuscript database and online interface from the ground up!

By the way, if you plan to attend the annual meeting of the Society of Biblical Literature in Denver this year, look for Denis’ presentation, “Criteria Check: Testing the Principles to Select Teststellen for the Textual Analysis of Greek Lectionaries.”

Here are a few words from Denis, himself:

I am delighted to join the CSNTM, where I will have the privilege to work with New Testament manuscripts alongside friendly staff and skilled textual scholars. Honestly, I never imagined that one day I would spend time investigating the text of ancient manuscripts!

It was during my master’s program that I was introduced to and trained in the discipline of New Testament textual criticism under the guidance of a world-class scholar. The discipline has fascinated me ever since. Although I enjoy it because of its material and historical elements, what underlies my efforts is my appreciation for the text of the New Testament.

I look forward to dealing with the technical aspects of textual and manuscript studies at the CSNTM. It will be even more rewarding to help the wider community understand and value this discipline in light of its practical relevance for those who cherish the New Testament.
